Erase

No longer
I wish to erase
Broken dreams
Ugly truths.

Realization has dawned
No longer I let
The sweetness
Take my advantage
Play con!

Bitter truth
Makes moments tough
However,
Teaches life
The real stuff.

Let us be friends
With the past
Let it guide us
Through the dark.

As a teacher would
Past gives an experience
To
Accept changes
Look beyond
those fancy masks.

No longer
I wish
To Erase the past.

  10. There are never any mistakes - only lessons to be learned. This struck a chord with me right now as I'm going through a separation and other changes in my life. Excellent poem.
