Pity Does Not Work, Show Me the Way

Sympathy on their face they sit beside you shedding the tears in ounces. You wonder what makes them do so as you are calm and in control of the situation. Will this attitude solve your problem? Does this imply they are all there for you through the thick and thin of life?

Naah! Even if we give the benefit of doubt and they are genuinely soft souls, still that does not improve your situation. You have an extra work to care for them instead of brainstorming to pull yourself through the situation.

No hard feelings, but life is more than bestowing  pity on people. Help them out rather than cutting through the life with a shortcut sympathy note in voice.  Support to empower, help them find a way as this will work more effectively and for a longer time.

  1. Good thought and you are right - helping people is better than pity.

  2. Very well said! I totally agree. Helping people find a way works effectively for sure. :)

  3. I think sometimes you need to support to empower and sometimes you just need to support so the person feels heard and less alone.

  4. Well said! I would rather have help than pity any day :) Have a good week.
